![]() ![]() ![]() The Helix Native VST/AU/AAX plug-in now also supports Apple M1 chips natively. All these are based on classic Line 6 stompboxes like the DL4, and were taken from the old FX Junkie model pack for POD Farm 2.5. And finally, a huge list of synth presets, including the Synth Lead, String Theory, Synth FX, Buzz Wave, Rez Synth, Saturn 5 Ring Mod, Double Bass, Seismik Synth, Analog Synth, and Synth Harmony. As well as the Phaze Eko and Bubble Echo delays. For modulation you have the Tape Eater, Warble-Matic, Random S&H and Sweeperb. Then, to add even more effects, Line 6 has added the New Legacy Effects, which includes the Bronze Master and Killer Z distortions. Line 6 helix full#This might be seen as complicated by some, but I find it exciting and full of possibilities.” – Ben Adrian, Sound Design Manager New Legacy Effects in 3.15 The tone controls adjust the character and/or amount of the overdrive in those frequencies. Ventoux has a unique topology. In an indirect way, every knob is kind of a gain/drive control. I wanted to do the same thing, but base it on the early 70s Orange circuits and the mid-wattage Fender Tweed circuits Most coveted boutique amps come from modified black panel Fenders or modified Marshall circuits. The idea was to create a “coveted boutique amp” that had a different origin story. There are only so many hours in a day, though. I was going to build it as a tube amp first. 1, 2, 3, or even 4 separate instruments (including a mic.) 1 enormous effects chain, 2 complex chains (perhaps stereo), or 4 separate ones layered together. This model comes from a physical amp idea I had a while back. Helix’s processing power paired with its inputs is outstanding. Can you imagine having 32 guitar pedals all in line? That’s exactly what this will produce. How about running all 4 of those effects chains in sequence one into the next to create one mammoth effects chain. This means that on 2 separate chips Helix can power 2 very robust effects chains which are each double in length to just a single chain (since two are running in sequence to make one large one.) You can run 2 chains into each other to make one huge chain. Voila! You have 7 input options, so setting up 4 separate effects chains IS A BREEZE! Now, you don’t have to have 4.Įach processing chip is powering 2 chains. ![]() So with 4 returns, any of those can power a 1/4-inch instrument cable. However, you have the option to set your input block to any of the returns. Usually, effects loops are set up within your chain. However, there are other “input” options. I think of it as similar to a pad switch on a mixer. This is because this input is more geared towards hotter, active pickups which sometimes can overpower the regular input. The aux is a “lighter” input which will make your guitar seem weaker. Helix has 1 guitar input, a mic input, and an aux input. I’m pretty sure that you don’t need too much more than that! (Watch, in 20 years I’ll go down in history like Bill Gates when he said, “640K is more memory than anyone will ever need on a computer.”) So how do you power 4 separate instruments? Does Helix have 4 guitar inputs? Of course, you can offload and reload any patches you want to, but the Helix can house a total of 1,024 presets altogether. How many Presets are in each setlist? 128. The sky is the limit! Let’s look at the numbers. Line 6 helix Patch#Of course, you can always copy/paste that template to a new patch and run some tweaks from there. Setup one chain for your single-coil guitar, another for your humbucker-powered beast, another for your acoustic, and perhaps one more for your mic! Now your four chains could power all 4 (almost like tracks) and you don’t need to change patches. Helix could be your all-in-one patch for a few instrument swaps.
